F.A.Q.
Ordering
How do I place an order?
You may contact us via email or telephone to place your order. Feel free to call us and relay an order over the phone, or you may type up an order to email it to us. You may email orders to customerservice@chickadeestudios.com
What are the terms?
Visa, MasterCard or check for the first order. Subsequent orders may be extended Net 30 by request.
What is your turnaround time?
Most orders can be sent out within 2 weeks from the order being placed. You may specify a delivery date and we will confirm whether that date is possible.
How many of each item should I order?
In my experience, the better a selection of an artist’s work your gallery has, the better your chances are of a customer finding an item they like. We are, of course, aware of our best sellers and are happy to make suggestions.
What happens if I order items that are not selling as well as others?
If you have pieces that are not selling for you please let us know. We can make arrangements to swap for other pieces that might work better for you. I’m sure you know that lighting and location of a piece is paramount.
How much are shipping costs?
The actual shipping costs, plus a $3.50 handling fee. We ship via USPS Priority mail unless otherwise requested.
How is the jewelry shipped?
All jewelry is tagged and shipped in a plastic bag with the style/color number on the bag. Included in the shipment will be an invoice with the style/color number and cost.
What literature and selling info will I receive to aid us in selling your jewelry?
Also included are artist bio cards, artist and product information sheet. On the product sheet are high-lighted processes and selling points of the pieces. These are points I have used to successfully sell my jewelry.
Glass and Jewelry
What are lampwork beads?
I like to answer this question by explaining that the basic principle is similar to a glass blower but on a smaller scale. A smaller flame (a torch) is used instead of a large furnace to melt the glass and a smaller steel rod is used instead of a large one to gather the glass. In the end I make a single bead instead of a vase. I like to stress this point to a prospective buyer so that they understand that each art glass bead was hand made without molds or machines for their jewelry.
What is the “metal” decoration on the bead?
The “metal” decoration on our beads is not actually metal but a reduction glass that we use to decorate the bead. Clear or opaque glass “studded” with metal is an intriguing look.
Do you resize jewelry?
Most bracelets and necklaces are created with a 2” adjustable chain. If the item needs further re-sizing we are happy to offer this service. We would appreciate your paying the shipping costs.
What size are your chains?
All our chains are 18”. Necklaces may be adjustable 16” to 18”. Some pieces may be longer, but the standard is 18” unless specified otherwise.
